Book Description
Blender is a 3D creation package that supports modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, and much more. Its capabilities extend to building an immersive environment for VR applications and building object files for 3D printing.
This practical guide starts by helping you brush up on your basic Blender skills and getting you acquainted with the software. You'll use simple modeling tools to understand the simplest 3D workflow by using a Viking helmet as an example. You'll then learn how to create your first 2D character using Grease Pencil and explore its capabilities. This Blender book then guides you in creating a sci-fi hallway and animating a scene using the EEVEE, the new state-of-the-art rendering engine in Blender 2.8. As you advance, you'll explore a variety of 3D design techniques such as baking, painting, sculpting, and unwrapping with the help of different examples and create amazing projects throughout the book. Finally, you'll get to grips with Blender's robust rigging tools and see how several other Blender tools work.
By the end of this book, you'll know how to work with Blender for computer graphics, art, design, and architecture and be able to use robust Blender tools for your design projects.
What you will learn

Explore the core 3D modeling tools in Blender such as extrude, bevel, and knife cut
Understand Blender 2.8's hierarchy, collections, and modifiers
Trace over 3D mockups and modify designs using the Grease Pencil
Generate materials and textures from high resolution to low resolution
Create node materials and assign them to your Blender objects
Implement effective 3D rendering system using EEVEE

Who This Book Is For
The book is for artists, designers, architects, and game developers who want to learn Blender in a practical way or enhance their existing knowledge of working with Blender. The book assumes some knowledge of 3D design concepts. Any software design experience will be helpful.
